Can someone tell me what the terms on the “special lease” are for the 2006 Tundra? Has anyone been able to get a discount on the vehicle in addition to the special lease?

I got one, I assume you are talking about the 2006 DC at $209 and 2K down. My dealer would not budge on the price telling me it's a fixed lease offer from Toyota, he's possibly right. The one I picked did have options over and above the 7744A that is advertised. He let me have it at the advertised price. I got the overhead compass temperature pkg, center console and something else as I recall. I went to two dealers and got a different price and story from each. Toyota does not enforce the rules of the lease so, buyer beware! $209 is an awesome deal, you can buy it at the end, the combined price of the payoff and total lease payments paid over the term of the lease are still less than if you bought it now. The Tacoma lease was almost a $100 more. plus a lot more down.

It doesn't apply to those of you who live on the Moon. JK

Sounds like a SWEET deal. I could afford that easily, but I have no need for another Tundra at this time. How long does this offer last? My parents might be getting a new vehicle with this kind of deal. I wonder if the lease deal includes trade-ins...

It was supposed to end 12/31/05 but they keep extending it. I think they are attempting to dump the 06's before the 07's come out. Trade-ins are up to the dealer.

The real question is, what is the residual buy out price at the end of the lease.? You need to have all of the details before you can say this is a good deal. Dealers love to get you on the monthly paymant. That way you lose track of what you are actually paying for the vehicle. Oldest trick in the book. Don't fall for it. Make sure you know the Cap cost, money factor, and residual. If you don't know these numbers you shouldn't be leasing.

It doesn't really matter unless you buy it. I trade pretty often and leasing sometimes pays off for me. My total cost of ownership for my 06 DC3 year lease will be $9500. The residual is 18.2K if I want to buy it. It's less than I could have financed it for. A little over 3K per year is pretty cheap for yearly cost on a car, worth keeping your money in the bank. The lease is handled by Toyota not the dealer. Of course the only way to win is to buy and keep if forever. Leasing is usually not a good way to go but for 209 it is not bad. You brought up some important points though, dealers love to throw that low payment out at you hoping you'll bite.

I calculated the money factor for both of the lease examples given so far in this thread and it appears that Toyota is giving out really spectacular deals as both money factors appear to be NEGATIVE! Is Toyota paying folks to borrow their money?
GeneC’s money factor is -0.001005
bpwj76’s money factor is -0.001210
I checked my math and I don’t think I made a mistake here. If Toyota charged a money factor of zero the payments would have been $255 and $231 respectively. So we know that the money factor has to be negative in order to lower the payments.
I used formulas taken from www.leaseguide.com to determine the money factors.
When I was at the dealer a few weeks ago test driving a 2006 DC the salesman mentioned that Toyota wanted to get a bunch of folks into Tundra leases that would expire in two or three years so that folks would pick up the new model Tundra. If Toyota is really giving out negative money factor leases then they must be pretty determined to make certain that the new Tundra does very well.
It's a screamer of a deal, and you should jump on it while it's available.
No, it doesn't get any better.
As for the residual, who cares? If you want to buy it, then just buy it now. If you're going to lease it, the smart thing is to walk away when the lease is over.
