Angry Does a lift void the warrenty?

Just heard today from a friend that lifting a truck (suspension and/or body) will void the warranties on it . Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone have any experience dealing with this?

He also mentioned that basically any modification to the truck, even changing the tires, will also void the warranties.

If this is true, what does that necessarily mean? If I lift my Tundra, will they still service it? What warranties do I lose out on if I do lift it?

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

You will run into hassles and it will be a fight but if you can prove the mod was not the cause of the issue then your claim cannot be denied. I've taken off a few suspension lifts before guys went in for a major warranty claim to save them the arguments.

You have that backwards, THE DEALER HAS TO PROVE THE MOD WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.
It usually depends on the dealer. I have done a few CV boots on lifted 4x4's under warranty.
AS glenn said they cannot void your warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))
My truck is heavily modified and I have no worries about warranty issues.
I have warrantied cat converters on trucks with headers, you cant prove they caused the failure can you?. I have warrantied MAF sensors with aftermarket filters. OUR dealer will usually do it 1 time, then the second time is on the customer.
