Angry check engine light

I need some help. I have a 2000 tundra, v8. I had the upstream o2 sensors and manifolds changed under the recall in Sept. of '04. I went two weeks ago to have the truck inspected. It failed the test. The code that came up was 0171 Bank 1 (system too lean). I took it to the local toyota service dept. and they ran a test on it. The same code came up. I have now had the mass air flow sensor, the same upstream o2 sensors and the left manifold replaced (the left sensor was seized in the manifold, that is why it was replaced). I go to pick up my truck drive 5 miles, go in and eat dinner, come back and crank up the truck and the check engine light came on again. Can any one tell me what the problem is? I am now out $955.00 and I still can't get the blasted truck inspected.

Take it back to the dealer and request one of two things happen. One: refund the money for unneeded work or two: fix the problem for free. If they are unwilling to do either tell them you will see them in small claims court and their name will be in the local paper that they are getting sued. I bet you get your truck fixed with no charge. Any reputable dealer will fix this problem.

You may not have been ripped off yet. But before you go back have the code read by someone else. I think Auto Zone will do this for no charge. If it is the same code take it back and let them know you know it is the same and they didn't fix the problem.
Ya see if you don't know what code was set they can simpley tell you it set a different code and something else is bad and it will cost$****** and you pay. Protect Yourself!
If you do know what code is and if it is the same code they can't BS you. When a code is set there is a long complicated dianostic proceeder to follow. It is very easy for a tech to just put in the part represented by the code instead of looking for the cause and verifying it. 90% of the time it works but sometimes the problem is something else in the circuit. You paid to have this diagnose properly. If it is the same code they should fix it for free, bottom line!
