Default What kind of Suspension Lift?

I'm still a novice in the suspension lift market, but I did figure out that I'm looking for a 4-5 inch lift on my 06 Tundra DC. I've looked around on the internet as well as in all of these tundrasolution forms and it seems like there are a billion different lift options and a thousand different companys to go with when it comes to buying/installing a suspension lift. I'm looking for quality not $$$, and I'm not doing any hardcore off-roading (just want the option to).

I've been looking at the Tuff Country 4.5" suspension lift kit and it's about $1300 w/o installation. Here's the link:

http://www.tuffcountry.com/suspensio...ta_tundra.html

I kind of want my truck to look like the black tundra on that link.

So are there like 2-3 main companies that tundra owners turn to for suspension lift kits ? I'm looking for customer testimonials if possible. Lift pics are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Another newbie here. wstsidesrf, I was reading about your TC lift. Just had the 5"(supposedly) put on mine, but they did not use new spindles. I was told it is because I have a 2wd.?? What I was really wondering, were you off-road or just around town when the spindles broke??

hockeyguy: the newer (been around for a while I though) 5" should come with spindles. 2WD my @#$, I would definately look into this.

aarons03tundra (2wd) ordered the 5" WITH Spindles.

Also, incase anyone needs it, Aarons post:
"If anyone is interested, jc whitney has the kit for $1450, and i have a "promotional code" that takes of 20% or $310! let me know if anyone is interested. shipping is $28.99, and the prom code is BVMMCO6."

snowballer: I'm not too sure on what to say. There have been many with good and bad experiences with the 4.5", but you don't really have the 5" option, according to T.C. anyhow. I would try searching, but I'm sure someone will chime in soon enough on the subject.

2wd or 4wd should not make any difference. I think it's the year that does matter. Apparently the lift with spindles will only fit 00-03's. Does any one know why the new spindles won't fit on an 04?

I have emailed TC, but no answer yet. I know new spindles would help with durability. I also asked why it appears that I only got 4" of lift. Stock height from ground to wheel well is 34.5" with 265/75/16 tires. I now have 39.5" (5"s higher), but I also have 285/75/16 tires(which should account for 1"), leaving 4" by the lift.

I went with RCD, the kit will go either 6" or 4". I went ahead and did 6".
I love it, the ride is a little stiffer, but from what I've read they all are.
The RCD can be found at www.racecardynamics.com. I had it installed, I
doubt I could have done it. $2200 for the kit and $500 install well worth
every penny. Pictures are in my gallery.
