Thumbs down "Come Cry with Me" - Tundra "Oh S%@T Stories

This thread is to discuss the unfortunate events that can happen to our Tundra's and the events and results that surrond them.

These are the event's that we cannot control and can ruin are day or week in the flash of mere seconds. For example; idiot drivers, shopping carts with a mind of there own and non-driving idiots - All with the ability to ruin the condition of our Tundra's and cost us extra $$$.

My episode happened on 03/28 after coming out of a local grocery store.

I walked up to my 2k5 LIMITED DC and noticed that my passenger side rear fender flare was halfway torn off and I had a scratch that was more than 16' long down the cab and bed with several dents to go along with it.

Talk about shock and awe - I just about **** in amazement. A hit and run in the parking lot, Unreal. $2700 in in total damage

I contacted the property management company where this episode happened and viewed 6+ hours of surveillance tape and found just what I was looking for. Two high school punks racing thru the parking lot with one clipping my truck. One of the Little Turd's got out of his car to view my trucks damage after he hit me and flashed his last name to the camera that was on his lettermans jacket - BINGO - I got the little ****er

Took the tape to the police station who traced the kid to a local high school and justice was served. Little **** just turned 18 and was charged as an adult with a hit and run (NO JOKE) and fleeing the scene of an accident (which was reduced and partially dropped).

Parents begged me to drop the charges because the little turd had a scholarship to the University of Washington pending and the charges could ruin is chance of getting it.

Like the Christian I am, I declined and let the rules of the court take over. Little Turd had a few other issues on his record and got 1450 hours of community service and had to pay to have my truck repaired. (By a local Toyota Dealer of Course)

The moral of the story is - Inflict pain on a Tundra, Karma will bust your ***!

Nice job, at least you got justice. That is rare. About a year ago some dumb**** kid came flyin' out of the bushes with his bmx bike while I was stopped and slammed right into my passenger door. Crunch, scratch. Before I could get out and wring his a$$. He bolted.

I think we've all done some pretty stupid stuff when we were 17-18... but that doesn't excuse the fact that someone else's property was damaged. Serves the kid right...

I was backing my truck out of Discount Tire and I scratched my driver side fender flare on my 04 D/C on their tool stand. Some mofo was partially blocking my way and I had to re-adjust and scratched the flare as I was backing up. Oh, well, **it happens

Just 2 weekends ago I was backing my '05 d/c out to leave my girlfriend's parent's business and had a D*** electric pole with an electric box jump out of no where. It was just high enough not to hit my bumper, but low enough that it crunched my tailgate good enough that i'm looking to replace it with a used one for less than it would to fix it

about 4 months ago i was on the freeway in stop and go traffic coming home from the GF's house when out of no where i get rear ended by a guy doing at least 20. Now thats bad enough but being at a dead stop, man, it messed my world up. i get out and the guy doesnt speak english. i ask for a lic., nope none. insurance? nope nothing. he begged not to call the CHP and said he fix it. like an idiot, i mean nice guy, i trusted him, and of course he ditched me. Now im mexican american, but this definetly changed my view on illegals. so i was left with my 01' with rear bumper and tail gate smashed.

Thats kind of a chicken**** move.
The way i see it if the kid told you to **** off and was a total *** about it, let him rot. But it appears not to be so and parents assumed full responsiblilty. there is no reason not to let him go on the charges. I understand some people disagree. But hell, you would have gotten taken care of either way.
Live and let live.

It's called accountability for your actions....not a pay off from the parents.

Ovbiously the kid has something going on if he has a scholarship to UW. That is a serious school. It was a mistake on his part, as we all have made in our teen years, and It is acceptable to let the parents take over, and make him pay... just not pay through the judicial system.

Folks, leaving the scene of an any accident is a serious offense...for ANYBODY.....doesn't matter what he's got going for him, he broke the law. Guess he should have thought that through before commiting a "teenage" act. I did stupid things, I got caught and was still able to get into my top college choice...if he doesn't make it, he'll have to deal with a different college...thats what consequences are....if he's got so much going for him, he'll make do. He's got no one to blame except the reflection in the mirror.
