Default IS Shocks vs. Hellwig Sway Bar

Since I got my '06 Tundra DC SR5 w/TRD Dual (no off-road pkg), I've been reading alot about the many mods that can be done. I want to put a sway bar but after reading the posts, I realized that sway bars are not suitable for off-road, due to flex...of course the quick disconnects are awesome (but pricey). So then I'm thinking, maybe using the more stiffer 4X4 shocks (i.e. Bilsteins' Ivan Stuart shocks) perhaps I get more stability. Pricing wise, they come about the same...hellwig w/ quick disconnects.....vs. IS shocks.

If I'm not understanding this right, correct me..please...your input is much desired.

thanks

Shocks can't do for you on pavement what the Hellwig can.

Agreed. I do have the TRD shocks on my truck and adding the Hellwig made a word or difference. There is simply no comparision. The socks might tighten up your truck and make the ride a bit stiffer, but it won't help in body roll and better handling like the Hellwig would.

Would these help, or are these more for carrying heavy loads?

Yeah I think they would, because they become active when load is put onto the leaf springs therefore preventing body roll. That along with the sway bar might add a lot of stability! But I'd still put the sway bar on first, just can't tell you have much it has helped. I'm scared to ever drive with it off because it's just to good!!

Bugger.......got mine from JCWhitney for $160 . They had a 10% off anything over 100 bucks so that 10% off turned out to be 16 bucks....and shipping was 16 bucks so it simply took care of that.

If you have the money but it! You won't regret it!!
