Morepower, I will have to check and see if the Tieyota stealers are putting on an extra 6k on FJ's. That is interesting and pure sad on their parts. (I know it is like chicken...parts is parts...)

Don't be so obtuse in thinking just because someone has a truck they can afford the gas automatically. Yes, gas prices are going to go up, but they are artificially inflated right now with no real reason. Period. We have an idiot for a president who isn't and won't listen to the people who elected him. Thank heavens he'll be gone in a couple of years. I hope we don't get John McCain or Hillary Clinton in his place. Neither one is a good choice.
OK, so you're big on the word "obtuse", let me make some acute observations:

No one is stuck making $10/hr. Follow 3 rules in the order stated -

Work Smart
Work Hard
Never stop learning

and you'll get far. You can work hard digging a ditch, but you're not going to make any money, so you have to work smart before you work hard. No one's income is "fixed" you can ALWAYS do better and do more, it's a matter of choice to have a "fixed" income. Expand your skillset, change jobs (unemployment is unbelievably low right now, those not working don't want to) the beauty of this country is that anyone can do better if they choose to.

Next observation:

Contrary to popular media opinion of us having "an idiot for a president", NO ONE gains and maintains power at that level by being an idiot. Is Bush eloquent or as charismatic as Clinton, no he's not, but he does what he says he's going to do. Also keep in mind the "fed up government" does not set oil prices.

Next observation:

NEVER mistake socioeconomic differences for racism, that is the biggest problem in this country right now. People like Jesse and Sharpton run around the country screaming racism anytime a situation arises between socioeconomic strata that happens to involve people of different races. case and point, Duke's lacrosse team. It's people like Jesse and Sharpton that keep racism alive, not the rest of us.

Final observation:

I never assumed that anyone owning a truck can afford the gas, people are constantly over extending themselves and buying vehicles/tv's/homes/etc. they cannot afford. I know, I drove a $50 subaru POS for a year b/c I did the same thing. All I started this thread to say was that people who buy a truck have to expect poor mileage. We've all made our own bed and have to lay in it.

True on the commie note. BUT, I am free NOT to trade with them. In other words, they can keep their FJ. I can remember in 1978, (we were in an earlier energy crisis) that I bought a Tieyota Highlux Long BED. I did pay the MSRP. During those times, there were NO room to negogiate. After all, Toyota, Datsun (Nissan), the Luv Truck, Mazda, (Ford Courier) were the king of high gas mileage trucks. The FJ could become that, but the gas estimate does not reflect that to me.

How do you know they still have segregated schools in the South? Do you live here, or did your left-wing college professor tell you all this crap?

Yeah, Im part American Indian, and part Irish,so I would know just a bit about racism.

Hey, Im pulling out my Cherokee Indian race card.It doesn't work as good as the black one though.

They claim the gas at $3 per gallon is still better than the gas price during the oil embargo of the 70's when adjusted for inflation, all i remember in 1978 was my first car in tenth grade it would cost me $5 to get half a tank, and the 383 road runner would suck that down just going across town and back from my girlfriends house. gas was .43 cents then it shot up to .75 and the world was going to end. like or not hybrids are going to be big even tho this is not the answer, hydrogen fuel cell if ever perfected could free us completely from the Arabs, if we don't get in a global war with the Arabs first.

Honestly, there are MANY solid technologies available to help reduce our dependency on oil foreign or domestic. Saying this is related just to foreign oil is a bit crazy. Oil is a natural resource that is projected to run OUT in not too long. Enjoy it while you have it.

Ethanol is an interesting idea, and might work as an interim fuel source while switching to hydrogen cars. But, and this is a big one, it isn't quite as cheap as oil. Give it time though. I anticipate of all manufacturer's an Ethanol hybrid to be produced by Ford or GM before Toyota or Honda. The first true mass produced non-gasoline dependent vehicle, hybrid or not, will be a vehicle to watch closely.

I guess you moderators really don't give a ****, do you? I asked for this to be closed becaus of its unnecessary relevance and the extremely rude and personal comments made. Don't listen well, do ya? This thread should not be opened, but be merged with TUNDRAV8GEORGIA's existing gas thread and cleaned up.

Well, that is it. I'm done. It is official you guys do not give a damn about your members to any extent. You allow for abuse of members to take place, re-post controversial topics that WILL result in additional negativity? Love controversy, don't you right-winged idiots?

Good bye!

Wile I have allways liked Ts I guess it's time to remove the sickers off my truck and work on a new site if that's where this lead too

Members speak up and Nothing of a follow up is done sadly this is where Ts losses my respect as a whole..
