1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "trd supercharger", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Today I had the local dealer install my trd supercharger. It took them 12 hours to install and they charged 560.00.. just a little note for anyone looking for the kit you can also use the 2001-2002 sequoia kit and it is the same kit for the 2000-2002 tundra... I got mine new in the box on ebay for 2k shipped..

How does it effect the gas mileage? I know that shouldn't matter but I do have to wonder. Also, how was the hard was it to keep maintained? Congrats, by the way!

lucky bugger. did the dealer actually install a sequioa sc kit on to your tundra? did they give you a warranty? was the sc kit new or used?
my dealer, servco pacific hawaii, backed out of my sc install because the sc kit part number said it was for a 2003-2004 sequioa, however, all of the paperworks and part numbers within the kit clearly states that it will fit any 03-04 4.7L tundra 0r sequioa. needless to say my dealer agreed to install it but would not cover it under warranty, i hate servco.

...And as a matter of fact, i cant spell.
before I had it installed I called trd and they told me it was the same kit for the 2000-2002 tundra and the 2001-2002 sequoia. the only difference
was a rubber hose in a bag marked sequoia. the dealer will stand by there work for 12 months and Trd will back the unit. it was new in the box. I will post pictures in a few days...

Go to www.boostedtundras.com to see the only supercharger kit for the 05-06 Tundra No detonation issues either
Just curious, how many kits have you sold for '05 and '06 Tundra’s? It would be good to hear feedback from these folks.
The one thing that has always bothered me about your kit is the amount of tubing involved. It's just an esthetic thing really but it would sure make sense to move the supercharger to the other side of the engine bay near the intake. I realize the supercharger you're using is not designed to be on that side but maybe they'll make something custom for you. You could get by with much less tubing if the SC were near the Intake.
I think a lot of people like the TRD SC because of how integrated it looks. I know they have always had issues though. But the issues can be corrected with more $$$.
