    Default Questions about the Tundra

Hey guys, I'm new around the site, and wanted some opinions. I've got my eye on a 04 Tundra, with 18k miles for $22,900. My question is, since I've not really been around the Tundra's, is this a fair price for it? Anything that I should know about this model. Its the Forrest Green (what it reminds me of anyways), single disc cd player, stepside, cloth interior. Over all, I really liked the way it drove, but I'm just debating on it. So I hope I came to the right place for some advice. Anything I should look out for, let me know. Thanks a whole lot!

I have an 04 dc and i love it, would not trade it for anything. I think that is a very good price.

I bought my 05 access cab last year new for 20,900 in November when they were running the 3 grand rebates. I was looking for a 6 but went with an 8 cause the price was too good to pass up. Needless to say, I think you could probably do better, especially if you wait more toward the end of the year. Remember the 07 is a new model so the 06's will be last years stuff and the rebates will probably be back. Also, gas prices dont look to be going down too much so the demand for trucks with 8's is not going to be great.

That said, I think the Tundra is the best of the bunch, at least in its current form. Good Luck.

tuscaloosa toyota has a lot full of 06' tundras, access cab and double cab models, with huge rebates...most of the access cab's are around 24k brand new...i'd try there, especially if you were planning on spending that much anyway

Is the truck tricked out at all or bone stock? I would have to say that it has low miles on it but that the price seems a little steep.

I just bought my 06 DC 4X4 for just under 29K 0 miles. I know that is 7K more than your person is asking but just my 2 cents.

Can I get my change back?

4x4? trd package? what other options? I have an 04 AC SR5 regular side 2WD with 26k miles and TRD with Limited slip, AAL, cornfed spacers(it sits level), sway bar, tow package that is in excellent conditon and KBB says it is worth about $20k. I would look around a little more before jumping on the first thing that you see. I dont know where in 'bama you are but like it has been said Tuscaloosa Toyota has some good deals(i got mine there) and I might even be willing to sell if you were interested

Go to Edmunds.com. Look up the trade-in and retail values. The mileage you state is nothing. If it's bone stock I'd be less suspicious than if it is modified. Fo you know the owner? Will they let you take it to a mechanic to look it over? Unless it's been beat to death it should be OK.

Guys, its 2wd, and bone stock. I am going to look around some more before I jump on anything, I've just started looking around and seen it in Jasper, so I stopped by for a look and ended up test driving it. I'm in Jasper, AL so, T-town isn't very far from me, same as B-ham.

Its good to see so many people from Alabama on this board!

here is warranty work i've needed on an 04 DC:

    - blower in heating/a/c system replaced due to squeeking
    - front two shocks replaced due to cracked housing on driver side
    - rear shocks replaced under incorrectly installed top mounting bushing tsb
    - getting a new a/c condensor and line next week due to bad seal leaking oil

all under warranty, but still, those are the problem areas i would check on the 04 if you find one with over 36,000 on it.

I have owned Toyota Trucks for 16 years. If you have the money to spend get an 06 the rebates are great. I just got an 06 DC 4x4 for $27,000 and change. I would also recommend geting 4 wheel drive, but thats just my opinion.

In the 16 years I have owned Toyota's the only warrenty/recall work I had to have done was the 03 recall on the front balljoints.
