Re: TSBs and Warranties Can't find the info I'm looking for
Glenn thank you very much for the focussed answer.
In Maryland vehicles are required to pass an emissions test every two years. The test is an exhaust sniffer/ sensor up the tailpipe or on newer cars the test station will do a "Quick Test" in which they plug in to the on board computer to read the diagnostic codes. BUT...if there are any trouble codes the vehicle automatically fails the test. I already started the question with Toyota.
I have a 2002 Tundra with 38,000 miles Six cyl, manual, 4wd.
Around 2000 - 2002 I know that the warranty on all emissions was 8 yrs/80k miles. I have a code that comes up that says "Cylinder six mis-fire". I checked continuity of the coils and the coil that fires 3 and 6 reads bad (But still runs). I swapped position of the coil and the code changed to "multiple cylinder misfire" so I think that the coil is a good first guess. But it costs $120 at Toyota or $75 after market. My position is the ORIGINAL warranty guaranteed emissions systems for 8 & 80k. I bought a Toyota for quality and reduced maintenance. The truck won't pass the emissions test because of a coil. I think that Toy should under the Emissions warranty pay to repair.
I bought the truck used. (Emissions warranty transfers to new owner) I don't have the original owner manual. Couls somebody look in the manual and confirm text discussing warranty for emissions?
Thanks

Six cylinder manual I am RELIGIUOS about tracking Mpgs. Very typical 17.8 mpg on any fuel grade with NO mods.
