Default Auto shift on steeper streets?

My Tundra is 2 weeks old, so probably a stupid question . When going down steeper streets/hills the truck automatically shifts and engine brakes a little....what feature is this? Never had that in other vehicles....

    It's definitely a searchable question.

And yes, it's normal in the Tundras. It's a little bit of engine braking to help when pulling a load to save brakes.

If you're new here you'll find two things.
    1) This is good web forum for Tundra knowledge.
    2) This place is anal port central.

Oh, and by all means DO NOT MISSPELL A WORD or item number 2 moves to first place.
