Anyone ever make the power outlets always on in the tundra dc? I have an 05, and would like to be able to charge my cell phone with the truck off. Did this in my 00 4runner, but not sure how to do it in the tundra as there is no visible relay that says PWR OUTLETS on it.
this was a complaint that I had with my 03 4Runner. Great power access but the key had to be in the accessory position. I've had my 06 DC for a week and fully expected to perform the mod that was detailed on this site. After checking with the keys out of the ignition, my 12V outlets are all hot. Not sure if this changed from 05 to 06.

You don't have to modify your outlets. Starting in 05, the two on the side are on constant, key on or off. If you plug something in to them that draws to much, they will shut off if the key is off. I have had no problem charging cell phones and smaller draw electronics in my 05 DC.

That is true, the two on the side ore constant on, but FYI, the one next to the ashtray turns off when the truck is off.
Same issue, '06 DC Tundra, I can not charge my cell phone from any of the outlets with the key off. I even tried the outlet on the back of the center console, both on the right side of the dash, and the cigarette tray.
Im pretty sure the outlets shut off after like 15 minutes cus i get into my truck in the morning and the light on the charger is never on till i turn the key to ACC
In my 2005 DC, the cigarette lighter (next to ashtray) is controlled by the key. The 2 on the side of the center console are always on. I don't know about the one in the backseat, I don't use it all that often.
In mine the two in the front and the one in the back are on without the key being on.They may shut off after a while but I have never checked. Its really not good to leave something drawing power from your battery when its not running anyway.
Brand new '06 DC. The cigarette lighter only works while the vehicle is ON. Both accessory outlets in the front and the one accessory outlet in the rear work 24/7 whether the vehicle is ON or OFF.
The accessory outlets will momentarily shut off when the vehicle is turned ON or OFF, but it will go "hot" again after a few seconds.
05 DC my two on the floor shut off after a couple of minutes. It gets annoying.
Again, they will not stay on with anything more than a low amperage draw. If the ECU determines it's too much, then off they go. I also think there might be a timer circuit that auto shuts them off after an hour or so.
I should have clarified earlier. The two on the side remain on, the one next to the ashtray only works key on.

The power outlet has been changed so that it can be used even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. Along with this change, and to prevent the battery from draining, the power supply to the power outlet is cut off and resumed in accordance with the conditions indicated below.
Cut Off Conditions
Amperage being used is higher than 6 Ah
Power outlet is used longer than 2 hours
Resumption Conditions
Ignition switch is turned to the ACC position
To ensure the proper startability of the engine, the power supply to the power outlet is cut off for 5 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the START position.
TS Support - Thanks for the clarification. I knew all three of my accessory ports were hot without the key in, but I didn't know the conditions/time they cutoff in order to conserve battery power.
