Default Bridgestone H/L Alenza vs Michelin LTX M/S

OEM Bridgestones are almost shot at 20,000 miles - so am shopping.

seems like the Alenza's get slightly better ratings, but there are more Michelin users.

I'll be mostly highway, and like safe handling, especially when wet. Anybody wanna comment?

Also, what are the pros/cons of going from my OEM size of 265/70 - 16 to 245/70 - the other recommended size for AC 2WD

thanks,
Sandy

I have 245/70 on my 2003 AC and they ride fine but look "small" on the truck. I wonder if the slightly larger 265/70 would look better and give a better ride?

I can't really compare the two but I can comment on the Alenza's...
A little over a year ago I bought them for my wife's Expedition and so far so good. They seem to be wearing ok and they are quiet on the highway.
They work well in the rain and are not the best in the snow (but they do work decent cosidering they are more of a street tire)

overall we like them...

I like my LTX's . Mostly splint between highway and city. Don't buy the LTX expecting a good cornering tire. But with a 16" rim, not much will corner nice, without giving a stif ride. I went to a 265/75/16 tire on my 4X4 and the ride is great. No worse, maybe better....maybe.

I had the crap Dunlaps and went with the LTX. I love the tire and have had them in some nasty mud w/o getting stuck in my 2wd. However, if you live in an area where the asphalt gets "polished" and you get a little rain, pay attention. My 2003 stock AC with LSD will light 'em up in a hurry which can make you look like a real a**...unless you're into that sort of thing. I would buy another set tomorrow, but I don't have to because they look brand new with 25k on them.
