OK, guys, I know this is really way off topic, but, given what's already been stated here that's off topic, I just can't help myself. You gotta see this.

I snapped the attached photos at sunset a few minutes ago from my neighbor's back yard. He has no fence, and my stockade fence didn't make for as good a photo. I live in Newcastle, Oklahoma, in far northwest McClain County.

I captured the current National Weather Service radar from NWS radar image from Oklahoma City, OK (Norman) which shows the storms to be right over Durant, Oklahoma, in west central Brian County.

These storms are 120 miles away.

Yup, you can see weather a long way from here.

Update at 8:15 PM: The lighning show is pretty spectacular, but I can't get a decent picture of it. Have to experiment with that a bit ...

That's freakin sweet. The tops of those are showing up on radar at about 40,000 ft, which isn't that high... I doubt I'd be able to see that far around here without getting on top of a hill... I remember I was out flying one night and could see lightning that was between Indianapolis and Chicago (I live near Cincinnati and was flying on the east side). It was pretty cool.
Check out some of my lightning pics. (I took the one in the ocean when I was on vacation in North Carolina a few years ago, the rest are from this spring).
