Anybody have a problem with having their auto shift stuck in Park? Periodically, when attempting to move to R, etc..it is stuck in P.
04' Limited DC.
I've tried to isolate when this happens, but it happens on flat terrain with the EM brake applied, etc...no pattern.

You do know you have to apply the brake to get it out of park don't you? Just asking. Some people do this out of habit but when they forget, then it's stuck in park. I honestly saw a rental car that was driven for days with no problem. The driver didn't know he had to step on the brake to get it out of park but had been doing it without even realizing it until this one time. He broke the shifter handle clean off trying to get it in gear. He simply didn't step on the brake pedal.
If you did know this, then it might be the switch that releases the lever when you step on the brakes.

Thanks for the quick reply. You bring up a good point. I never thought of the brake switch. I'll make a consious effort to apply the brake and test it.
My 96 Acura has done that to me a couple times, but it hasn't happened to my wife yet. I think I wasn't pressing hard enough on the brake but I'm not sure. I wonder if the brake switch needs to be adjusted? I guess I'll find out when it gets totally stuck.

I had this happen to our 90 Accord. It was the switch and finally gave out. There should a slot next to the shifter in your Acura that lets you over ride this if your switch ever completely fails and you need to get home. If I remember right, you can use a key or the like in the slot to release the shifter.

If you don't press the brake hard enough (I feel or hear a click then I shift out of P), you won't be able to move the shifter. I discovered this when I got my new truck, I used to drive a 5spd for 10 years, so I had to adjust to driving an automatic.
