1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "speedo fix", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
anyone know how to fix the speedo in a 2006 4wd tundra. just put on 33's with the tuff country lift and when i drive a mile, it only reads 9 tenths. i know that means i will be driving faster then my speedometer reads. anyone that has 33's fixed this, and if so how?

TruSpeed Speedometer Recalibrator. Under $200 and will fix your problems.

has anyone used this with 100 % success and can a dealer install it- the truspeed calibrator with 33 inch tires
The truspeed or any other calibrator will work just fine, these things all just modify the speed signal (its just a pulsing signal). Install would be very easy, just supply power and ground, then tie into the speedo wire (should be orange with black stripe) behind the cluster, set the truspeed, and your done.

Hypertech or someone like them doesnt make a programmer for the tundra???
No programmers, Toyota dealerships can do it with there scanners but no one has had any luck getting them to, they just don't have good enough techs working there (there jsut good at services I guess).

I put the truspeed on my truck with 33's and it works great.
Took a little while to dial in, but using a gps I got it perfect. The truspeed
also has two settings for two different tire sizes, incase you switch for
winter use.
