I have drove 300 miles with my Wife, her Mom, and our Daughter in the back of our 2006 DC, and had nothing but compliments about how comfortable and roomy it was. I almost always drive our Tundra over our Audi when there are people other than our 3 year old riding in the back. Nothing but positive remarks!!

I bought my 06 dc with the intention of it being my primary mover and I don't regret it one bit. In time I believe that I will be able to say that it's the best vehicle I've ever owned.

I have A 2000 ac and use it as a daily driver, the only thing I would add to this discusion is, If my truck died or was wreaked tomorrow I would go out and buy a 05, or 06 DC as my next daily driver. I love driving this truck.

Mini vans and SUV's are for Mommys and 4x4 pick up trucks are for Daddys. Period end of story. I use my 05 DC for everything, get the kids, pack the bikes, 4 wheelers, camping gear, golf clubs, plywood, drywall, cement, lawn mower, I have a soft cover on my bed and it's good enough to keep my clubs dry all summer, I put silicone where ever I saw light coming thru. You will not be disappointed with a DC Tundra. I love mine.

I use my 05 DC for a daily driver, it's great. We also always take my truck when going on long trips because it's so comfortable. Last summer we drove about 7 hours to SC, it was not tiring at all to drive and everyone was comfy in the back. We took two vehicles, and everyone always wanted to either drive or ride in my truck. Most of the trip there a friend of mine drove my truck with his family, and I drove his dodge. The trip back I drove my own truck though

I have one son and and access cab. I love the truck but just keep in mind that if you have stuff like strollers, extra clothes etc. that it is hard to keep them in the bed. They get wet, dirty etc. and there is no room in the cab for them. It sounds to me like a Suv would work better for you.

I have an 06 DC and it is THE family car. My wife drives a small sports coupe and driving around a family of four in there is hell. (She's gotta be the only mom in the country who has two young kids and drives a 2-door sports coupe). The 06 DC works great as a family car. The cabin is plenty roomy, comfortable, quiet, and smooth-riding for long trips. And for those long trips, I simply use a soft-sided cargo carrier secured in the bed to hold our luggage and other stuff (and to keep it dry if it rains). There's still more than enough room to toss in the kid's muddy bikes so they can play wherever it is we're going. Hard to do that in an SUV!

Another often-overlooked benefit of the DC is its high ground clearance. This keeps the frail mother-in-law out because "it's too hard to get in". Score!

Double cab, daily driver, you bet. It is my main vehicle. I have put 26,000 miles on mine in one year. We live in Eastern Washington and have family near Everett. We drive the tundra your way a lot. I got a bed cover so we could haul stuff over there dry. I also pull a 5000 lb. travel trailer. It does a great job with it. You won't like the mileage pulling, but you won't have problem keeping up with traffic. I can't talk on the kid hauling thing, we are empty nesters, but it does a good job on everything else. 15mpg in town, 19-20 on the road not towing at 70 to 75 mph.
