Default "Bumping" Noise...

I have a 06 DC, and often hear a loud "thump" noise that sounds like the skid plate moving or something metal underneath when starting, and sometimes when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. I have checked the skid plate, and it's tight...anyone else experience this problem? It is only a one time "thump" noise that I hear.

Is this when you first start out and move foward? and not any more when driving and stop and go traffic? May be the ABS self check happening. the check Sounds like a twanging sound or spring being thumped.

The rear leafs will make all sorts of noises when the clamps become loose.

I hear it right at initial startup, usually after sitting over night, and then hear it sometimes when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd, as the extra movement to shift will cause it to make the noise also. It really sounds like a loud metal "clank" somewhere on the front end.
