Default bug shield

I want to put a bug shield on my new tundra but I am not sure what type to put. Does anyone have a picture of their truck with a bug shield on it? Thanks

I have Toyota's version that the dealer installed. Follows the countours of the hood. The word Toyota is on the right side in letters that have color only on the edges (outlined). Mounts onto the hood with brackets and has two pieces of foam where the brackets touch the outside of the hood. So far so good.

Good luck!

I also have the bug shield from my Toyota dealer. I really like it.

Smile Re: bug shield

I just purchased one from Pep Boys for $54.00 and installed it myself. You could either install with the 3M or use the two screws that came with it. I chose just to use the 3M for now. Install was easy. I think it looks good for the price and it doesn't lay on the paint. It was the Bugflector II from AVS. I wish I could post pictures but I have exceeded the limit, whatever that means. The pics are in my garage!!

Can someone tell me how the bugshield fits across the front of the 06 tundra. The guy that installs them says that you loosen the grill, place the shield in the crack and tighten the grill back. Is this correct? Wouldn't it leave a crack between the hood and the grill? thanks

Basically you unbolt the latch assembly(3 bolts) then unbolt the grill(6 bolts) I took the grill completely off and it was easy(just to see what it was like) Then I untaped about 1 inch from the 3M adhesive on each side and placed it on the truck to get the right fit. If it wasn't centered i'd take it off and reposition it. After it was in place I would peel the rest of the tape off and press down on it. the tape sticks very quickly and firmly so don't make a mistake at positioning it. After that I just put everything back in it's place being careful not to over tighten the bolts that hold the grill in place. The space between the grill and the shield is not that noticeable at all if any. Hope this helps.
