Default P0307 Code with Check Engine Light

2000 Tundra running fine when I turned it off and next morning it was rough as a cobb. The OBDII code indicates a cylinder 7 misfire (P0307). Anyone had this code and was it the coil pack or sparkplug....or something else?

I prefer to keep my hard earned dollars away from the local Yota stealership.

    Thanks

    Kent

It could be anything from a vacuum hose, injector, MAF meter, rings (compression), ECM, bad connetion, low fuel pressure. Just gotta check it out and hope it's something simple and cheap.

if it is a P0307, swap the coil out to a different cylinder and see if the problem moves. if not, try moving the #7 spark plug to a different spot. if this does not work, you will have to see if the injector is firing, by using a automotive stethoscope.

I'm going to say bad coil pack. Do let us know the results when you get it fixed.

Cleared the P0307 code...Switched the #7 coil pack with the #1 coil pack and checked the code once the CEL came back on.

New code P0301....I love it when a plan comes together.

Bad Coil Pack .....anyone here used Autozone or Napa coils?

    Thanks for the help.

I would suggest using RockAuto.com, I have used them before and had great results. They have fast shipping and great prices.

Alright, Im having this same problem. The diffrence is that I changed out the coil pack and also did a steptic test on the fuel injectors, they all seem to work just fine, I changed out the spark plug and also did a compression test, they all look to be fine..any more idea on what the problem is?

    Welcome to TundraSolutions.

There has been some confusion as to cylinder ID location on the 4.7L V8 as a result of both the Haynes and Chilton manuals being wrong. Can you describe where you think cylinder #7 is?

A few people on this board have had similar problems and were initially unable to make any headway. Turned out that they were fixing the wrong cylinder.

Once this is clarified we can move forward and give you some help.

    What is a steptic test?

I've checked the forum and I've seen that #7 is on the driver so I've checked that one. The engine runs when I take out the spark plug on #7 but when I take out the #8 then the engine stalls because Im guessing its running on 6 cly instead of 7..but of course I would like to run it on 8 like how it was intended to.

Anyways a stethoscope is a unit sort of like a doctor thing where they use to listen to our heart, just that this one is for automobiles...which it works, I can hear the fuel running thru the injectors..its just misfiring somewhere else..

sorry about before, i didnt spell it right and was in a rush..
