Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tundra Owners Introduce Yourself Here
Hi everyone,
I just bought an 06 SR5 AC, 4x4 - Tow package, TRD off-road, all weather, premium sound, LSD, TRD exhaust. I went straight to Discount Tire and got the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos, after looking at Tirerack's charts, had BFG AT KOs on the last two trucks. Line-X tomorrow, alarm Saturday, thinking about the JL stealth sub. This is my first Toyota truck, previously had Fords (huge camper) and a Dodge a while back. So far I love it , and I'm hoping to take it out to the mountains soon. I got a wealth of info from the Ford Diesel forum for my previous trucks, looks like a lot of great stuff here - off to the FAQs now!

Hello Members,
I just purchase a 2000 Tundra with 115K.
I have a 2004 4Runner and wanted a Toyota Truck.
Original owner traded it into a Ford Dealership for his wife a Mustang GT.
Owner says he never did anything, but change the oil.
As part of the deal the Ford Dealership agreed to replace timing belt, water pump, and correct check engine light and faulty fuel gauge.
They sent the truck to the Toyota Dealership for check engine light problem and fuel gauge. The Toyota dealership replaced fuel gauge, O2 sensor, and replaced a cracked manifold.
I guess the first thing I'll need to do is flush the transmission.
I'd appreciate any advice or encouragement as I'm having a little buyer's remorse about buying a truck with this many miles.

Just bought an 04 Salsa Red Pearl 2 wd Double Cab with 44,000 miles on it. I was really happy to find it, not alot of DC Tundras to begin with, even less if you are looking for 2wd. This is my second truck, first was a '91 S10 that I bought off my dad in '95, and drove it for 11 years. That guy had a long life almost inspite of itself, looking for even better lifespan from this.

Hi, my names kyle. Currently I have a 00 4runner sr5, and I am looking to upgrade to a tundra around the end of summer. I am also registered at yotatech.com under the same user name. Anyways, I am looking for a double cab tundra, with color keyed everything (no chrome), grey interior, and power everything. Let me know if there is anything I should specifically look for in a Tundra, or anything I should avoid. I was looking at a 05 tundra, but it does not come with the built in overhead compass, is that easy to install after the fact? I will not be getting anything newer than an 05 for price reasons, plus I do not need a brand new truck, I have been happy with my used 4runner, and see no need in a new vehicle.

Hello... just picked up my '06 double cab SR5 last week. First Toyota I've ever had... have always been a GM man but have heard nothing but good things about the Tundra's. Very happy with it so far!

Longtime lurker, third time poster.
2 days into my new 2006 Tundra Access Cab, 2x4, V8, TRD off-road suspension, LSD, Tow package, Silver Sky Metallic.
Was going to wait for the 2007 - but the 07 is that little bit bigger which makes it harder to garage. (I know, it's a TRUCK! Let it sit outside!) And my '93 Explorer with 148K on it puked transmission fluid all over the Interstate 5 Grapevine grade last week. It's still running with more fluid - but for how much longer?

I've purchased a 01 Tundra, regular cab, V6, auto trans for use in my home remodeling hobby. I would appreciate suggestions on how to improve performance/milage. For example should I go with a whole new air intake like a K&N or just get a TRD filter for the stock box? What about exhaust system modifications? Any and all tips will be appreciated.

Just bought an '06 DC Limited and have been feverously scouring the forum for ideas on mods . Will be starting with Nav,backup camera and iPod....If I understand correctly, the Eclipse AVN5500 will be a simple plug and play install...if anyone has done this, any pointers would be appreciated (where to mount the GPS antenna, where to route the camera cable and mount the camera etc.) Next will be nerf bars....Smittybilt I think. Then exhaust.....need more sound. Grill guard...Jaos if available, Wheels...?
I love mods.
PS.....so far this forum has been a great resource. Thanks

Hello, I just bought an 05 Tundra! 15k, TRD, tow package, double cab SR5. I have always wanted a Tundra now I can proudly say I have one. I have tried to convince my two older brothers that Toyota is the way to go, but they just give me a bunch of crap. They both have Dodge trucks, one with the Hemi, and the other with the Cummins. I may have some trouble trying to prove resale against the diesel, but time will prove the value of my beloved Tundra!
Thanks for the forum,
Adrian

New member here, too....just picked up an '06 TUNDRA SR5 DoubleCab V8, TRD Off Road pkg. in white Funny, had an A-hole salesman at another dealership not tried to Bait-N-Switch me last week, I would've been the owner of an '06 TACOMA DC Pre-Runner TRD Sport. I answered a "One only" ad and was going to get a great deal on it until I saw it had a $2000 chrome wheel package on it, that the salesman refused to take off. He said "he didn't know" it had the chrome wheel package on it and that it would "cost him money to take them off".
Anyway, found this forum and researched the Tundra for a week....liked what I read. In fact, I had been in denial the past few weeks concerning the Tacoma's Sport scoop, seating position, interior room, and engine/road noise. I thought I was the only one who was being picky about those items since it's still a great truck, but it seems there is some general agreement. Once I test drove the Tundra, I couldn't believe I almost bought the Tacoma .
I just came off of a Dakota Quad Cab and wanted something else for daily driving and fitting a motorcycle in the bed, but didn't think I wanted a "full size" truck, so that's where the longbed Tacoma came in. I'm just turning 50 yrs. old and though I'm young and hip in most stuff (LOL), the more I pictured myself in the Tacoma TRD Sport with the hood scoop, the more I thought it was time to "grow up"
The Tundra DC Off Road feels awesome, rides awesome, looks great. The '07 Tundra looks like it'll be too much truck for my needs, so this one fits the bill. Thanks to all here who make this a valuable forum!! Worked for me!!

I just got a great deal on an '06 Tundra Double Cab 4X4! I also found this sight which helped me make my decision. I see there are problems (as with any vehicle), but everyone finds solutions and offers support. Trading up from a fantastically reliable '97 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton, but talked to a '02 Tundra owner who cemented my decision to purchase!!!
