Hi Gang -
I'm just a poor, dumb tomato farmer....
Bought my 2006 Tundra Double Cab 4X4 SR5 almost one year ago.
Salsa Red with light gray cloth (now leather...)
Here is the "Annual Report" or the "State of the Tundra".....
Got it at Toyota of Tampa Bay through their internet sales dept for $27,000. Had to "arm wrestle" them a bit to get them down to reality....(Traded in my 2005 Honda Pilot... great riding SUV but it sucks on the farms in the sand... no real 4X4 guts.... and the towing capacity is terrible..... Same for the Honda Ridgeline.... no guts....)
The Toyota is a REAL truck....
Added Stainless Steel (the good SS, not the cheap SS) side step bars (
ebay) and heavy duty in channel window vents (
ebay) and an Undercover Bed cover. Added cheap air horns.
At 10,000 miles I changed the light grey cloth interior over to LEATHER.....for $300. Installed it myself (done this lots of times for other cars and friends cars). (Anyone want the old cloth covers.........? Make me an offer $$$....)
Modified the electrical outlets by wiring an additonal 12v socket for my cell phone so now it stays on ALL the time. Added a Beltronics RX-65 Radar detector (the best...).
I run Mobil 1 "extended" synthetic oil.
Gas mileage on the highway is 17 mpg consistently. NO PROBLEMS for the first year. Never been to a dealer.
Have 28,000 on the odometer in the first year. Just changed the wiper blades last week.
We have a weekend place 2 1/2 hours away in Hog Valley, Florida (right next to the yet to be famous "Pig Pen Saloon"...)

and go there every other weekend to go ATVing in the Ocala National Forest.
My Tundra DC hauls the big trailer with 4 ATV's; or the other trailer for the two Honda Jet Skis without a problem. This truck has moved houses, hauled monstrous stuff, pulled out HUGE 12" posts and 12"-14" stumps from the ground and barely strains with the 4.7 motor.
I love this truck.
FYI, I work for the largest grower of fresh market tomatoes in North America. We have farms in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, California and Mexico. 15,000 employees. I'm the Director, Risk Management & Insurance. I am always out on one of the farms in my Tundra and if I had enough traction I could go up the side of a tree........
Additionally, I autocross one of my Miata's. I am the Head Tech Inspector for the autocross club. If it has 4 wheels and it's broke, I can fix it.....
Used to restore classic Mustang convertibles. The last one was a 1973 which is one of the hardest to find parts for.....
Oh yeah, I won my local Soap Box Derby back in 1969; and then lost first place at Akron by 22/100's of a second.....probably started me off with my love of vehicles.
But then, I'm just a poor, dumb tomato farmer.....
