I bought my first Tundra when they first came out. Had my "Big Red" AC SR5 for 4 years. Had to sell my immaculate truck at 50k miles due to circumstances in 2003. 3 1/2 years later I chanced upon an '01 limited with 25k miles and all the extras available. I impulse bought it on ebay for 15,800. Same as I sold my old truck for three years earlier.

I got a truxedo roll up (velcro sides) from truckcessorizer. It is vastly superior to the snap side tonneau I had on my last truck. Easy on and off, and easy to install.

Hello, All -
I just traded in my beloved 2002 Prius for a 2003 Tundra so I can drive my horse around. I also have to use this vehicle for my daily commute (45 miles).
I've had the truck 5 days now and I do like driving it. I still have to get a trailer brake box installed before I can try it out pulling the horse trailer. The advice I got was that it will be strong enough for local trips with a lightweight 2 horse trailer and 1 horse (about 4000 lbs total). Hope that was good advice!
I came across this site when I was trying to find info on MPG. I got 16.97 mpg on my first tank of gas.

New member -- found this site about 2 weeks ago and have already found a ton of helpful info/tips--so thanks to you other members for making this a great site first off! Haven't made any real "mods" yet, but you guys sure inspire me to now.....
Bought my Tundy new 4 1/2 years back -- was my graduation present and first NEW vehilcle I ever bought. Just hit 45K miles and still runs like new; still running on OE Rugged Trails with tread to go. Have had absolutely no problems whatsoever, and have already promised my oldest I'll keep it for him to drive in a few years (he's 3 now ), and it will probably last that long.
Glad I found this site!

I just bought a 2004 Tundra double cab, like it a lot. Marked as Certified, it had 40650 Miles as I drove it off the BR Toyota Lot in Phoenix. I have only one service issue - wheel balance or perhaps more accurately a vibration at 65 to 75 MPH.
I am pretty sure that it is tires since the vibration is minimal until the tires (Dunlop 265/65R17 on Alloy wheels) get warmed up. Discount has balanced them twice but it is hardly a lot better. I jacked each wheel a little off the ground and rotated it against an indicator and could find no significant radial tire or lateral runout ( only .07 radial on the worst tire) and the wheels are perfect.
Anyway, I dropped it off at BR Toyota today - hoping they find know to fix it and that it will be done under the new owners full coverage 15 day warranty. I found it comforting that the service corridor had only a few vehicles at a time (on a Monday AM) and there really was no waiting.
This is my first Toyota and its been hard to find a DISAPPOINTED Toyota owner.
Thanks for the forum. Maybe I can add some great experiences as I expect to have the Tundra for a good long while.

Hi Folks,
I own a 2000 Tundra SR5 that was purchased Brand New. This is my first truck. I have own in the past about 5 Toyota cars Corolla's and 1 Camary prior to the purchase of my Tundra back in 2000. My Truck has about 69000 miles. Well Maintained and all recordes kept. Retrofitted Brakes. (Recall)
Question: When I am driving for about 20 mins, I start hearing a roaring type of noise. I think it is comming from the passenger side. The Dealer have not been able to find the problem. I have looked under the Truck and I can't see anything obvious. All the brakes have been checked. The tires have been recently balanced and rotated. Any ideas, clues appreaciated.
Best Regards, Caribman
GREAT SITE!!

Hello My name is Stuart and I live in Richmond VA. I bought a pre-owned 04 Access Cab with 80k on it. This is my first ever pickup truck and I bought it to tow a boat and a tractor (not at the same time).
This web site has already taught me a lot about my truck. I've learned about towing, bad window hinges and 02 sensors that need to be replaced. I look forward to being a member and learning much more. Thanks to those unselfish members who share knowledge with the others in time of need.
Hello,
New member, here. I've owned my 2003 Tundra 4x4 TRD extended cab for about 2 & 1/2 years and I love it.
First truck I've owned, although I wanted one ever since I learned to drive.
It's a great truck and I look forward to learning a lot more about it through the forum.
Thanks in advance for all the info and knowledge made available on this site!
