Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tundra Owners Introduce Yourself Here
Hello,
I am an old Toy fan, currently have a '97 T100 2wd with 167K on it. Heard they are not building any more current sized Tundras (only the really large 07 version) so it became time to #### or get off the pot. Have a 2006 2wd V8 Tundra that I will take delivery on this week. Cannot bear giving up the T100 since it still looks showroom new and runs that way (in part thatnks to all synthetics for its entire life).
Question? It has the TRD package (2wd) which lists limited slip, and also the $295 option for limited slip differential. I heard somewhere that there are two different limited slips--what is the difference between the two? Is one a true "locker" type?

Hi! First post for me, picked up a 01' 4x2 Limited from my Dad with less than 30,000 miles on it. Decided to upgrade the suspension with alittle help from the search button and some great people. Thanks to mustang67408, SATundra, TRDZNTZ for the help with questions and ordering of parts. I've completed the changeover to 4x4 TRD coils, bilstein shocks, Hellwig Sway-bar, and Poly Rack bushings. I can't believe how much better it rides!
I also can't believe the help I received from people I just met in this site. This site rocks!!!!!!!!
Other mods : Complete change of fluids to synthetic, Line-X, and a SnugTop SS Shell.

I put a cat back muffler and pipes on it but lost them in a rear-ender. Now I'm back to where I started from. I think I get better power with the oem set up. The only other thing I've done to the Tundra is add Bilstein shocks.
Also had to put on a new left side exhaust header. That cost some bucks.
Mileage is probably right for a truck. 15 around town and when I pull the boat and 20 on the open road.
I'll be up for a new set of tires and am looking for the kind that will handle best in wet weather and on slick boat ramps. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks and best regards

i have heard nothing but good things about NOKIAN TIRES FROM SWEEDEN

Hi, my name is Steve and we purchased a 06 Tundra AC V8 in Desert Sand Mica today.
I'd like to say "thank you" to this site as it helped us decide our purchase.
I went with my dad to the dealership to pick it up. I got to take it around the block after we got home and I'm just blown away at how nice this truck is. I swear I kept it under speed limit .
Our old truck is a '85 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 2.0L 5pd. It'll be retired soon, now that we have this. It was a big step up. Two very different animals. And it's not a coincidence that they're both similar colors.
My dad gets to use it first for work as I'm still in college right now. But I'll get the chance to use it when I need to.
As for add-ons, we're planning to add a bed liner (Edit: going for a spray-in), running/step tubes, and a bed cover (probably a folding-type). Advice/recommendations on any of these is gladly accepted.
Well, thats about it. I'm looking forward to enjoying our Tundra and hopefully keeping it for as long as our old truck.

Just purchased a 2006 White Tundra 4x4 X-SP yesterday! I love the thing, I don't want to get out of it. It is definitely the best riding truck/suv I have been in. My fiance compared it to her 2001 S8 Volvo and is always trying to get me to let her drive it. I traded in my 1999 Yellow F250 4x4 with Fabtech lift and 37" SSR and got a GREAT trade in value for it at LaGrange Toyota in Georgia. Hardest part about getting the truck was just finding it, I was originally wanting black, grey, silver, then white but they only found 2 white 4x4 x-sp and another color I wasn't interested in. Look forward to learning more about the truck, usually a domestic (FORD) guy but I believe I have seen the light! I will post a pic as soon as I get to taking some.

Hello all,
I'm a newbie to the site. After a great experience with two Toyota trucks I'm looking at getting into a Tundra, Access Cab, 4wd, TRD, Limited, somewhere between '00-'02. I'm interested in other people's experiences, tips when shopping, etc., and it looks like there's quite a wealth of knowledge here. If anyone has any advice for shopping for a used Tundra feel free to pass it along.
Thanks
Craig

Hello all. My wife and I just completed our transformation from the dark side (GM) to the good side! Bye-bye 1992 GMC Z71 (good truck) and 2001 Chevy Tahoe (POS) and hello 2006 Silver 4-Runner and 2004 Silver DCab Texas Edition Tundra 4x4.
The 4Runner does better than advertised on gas. She is getting 22-24 town/hwy and my Tundra is doing worse than I expected. I'm only getting 13/16 and was planning on 16/18. Oh well, gas is cheap .

Sup TS Members!
Just got my 05 Tundra V8 TRD off road around December, and I love it. Even though gas prices in SOCAL are ridiculous, I can care less . But anyways, I'm looking to upgrade my stock wheels, but need someone to point me in the right direction, lookin into eagle alloys or something of that nature with some terrain tires, any people with some knowledge?
