Default 31 Mpg !

V6 ! 5 speed !

Oh but its my Tacoma thats getting that .... sorry ...

I didnt know where else to post this.. but I just got back from a trip to South Dakota... I was getting 30-31 mpg in my 4x4 xtracab Tacoma hauling some crap w/o the AC ... 28-29 w/ AC

I think thats good, even for a Taco ...
Just to try and keep it on topic.. those of you w/ similiar setups in your Tundra (V6 5 spd), what kind of mileage do you get ??

NOTATION: All threads that use to be in the V6 Solutions Forum pertaining to "MPG" have been mergred to the "V6 Mileage?" thread in the Main. --- Possum

31 mpg is still quite impressive. My buddy's automatic Tacoma only gets 20 mpg.

My V6 2wd T-100 would get close to 24 MPG if you kept the speed down around 60-65 MPH. I averaged 20.7 MPG for the 51K miles that I owned it. I think an honest 31 MPG out of a V6 Tacoma is unbelievable, at least by me.

Yea I thought it was next to unbelievable too... I kept speed at about 65 and drove real easy...

think my exhaust upgrades might help it breathe more effeciently therefore increasing MPG ? just a thought ...

when I get on it a lot, and drive it hard .. it still gets 22-24 mpg .. and thats like peeling out and doing 85 ... weird !

If you talk about your mileage a lot, and then find that it keeps getting better and better, beware of a friend that might be adding to your tank without you knowing it. This can result in fantastic MPG results. Then when they stop adding for you, things get back to reality. I hope this isn't happening to you!

I just took three adults wine tasting in the Napa valley, some freeway, some highway, some winding mountain roads and got 22.5 MPG. The good part, we went 520 miles on one tank! It ain't 30, but it is in the Tundra. (please forgive my bragging WB)

Default A word about Taco oil capacity

I changed the oil in my sons 02 Taco 4 cyl yesterday. The owners manual said 5.8 qts w/filter. Seemed a little much for a 4 cyl. My 91 4 cyl only took 4.5. SOOO I called to get a second opinion from several Toyota dealerships. One said 6 qts -one said 5.5--one said almost 5 qts and the 800# said "You call will be answered in 20 minutes".
I had a 5 quart container so I changed the filter, put in 4.5 qts and checked it after running for a few mins. It showed a little low, so I added the rest. Looks like its going to take 5 qts w/ filter.
3 dealerships ---3 different answers and a 4th in the manual. Does anyone REALLY know whats going on? ----Buzzard

Buzzard: When they figure out what it actually holds, they will send you a "free" dipstick. That's what they did with the V8.

Means what I typed had only a nodding acquaintance with English and the system wouldn't let me remove it entirely.

A mangled post is what I has when I backed the SUV into my free-standing mailbox and knocked the thing askew.
