Welcome! And congrats on your purchase

.
I had a '91 Cherokee that I loved, too. My first exposure to off-roading was in that Cherokee when my wife and I went on a road trip while she was 6 months pregnant with our first daughter. I learned a lot of things--like the tendancy of the V6 to overheat and to make sure to check and tighten the wheels bolts nightly (I only lost one

).
I think all limiteds have the autodimming mirror. You can easily check how it works during the day. When the car is running, cover the light sensor on the back of the mirror (facing the windshield) with your fingers. The image should dim or turn greenish. Then cover the front light sensor with your thumb and the image should go back to normal.
As for the fuses, make sure you check all the locations. In addition to the area in the driver's foot well, there are also a couple of fuse boxes in the engine compartment on the battery side.

Two questions...
1) Auto dimming rear view mirror? I don't see any mention in the manual, but the mirror has a small electronic eye, and LED and a power switch. I haven't driven in in the dark really, so I haven't see it do anything
2) 12V power outlets don't work; yes, I know the car must be running . The cigarette lighter works, but none of the extra power plugs do. I will go through fuses today, but according to the manual, all the fuse for the plugs (position 33 or 34 if I remember correctly)handles the load for a host of other systems as well, all of which currently work. I don't want to miss something silly and look like a fool when I take it in.
