When I put on a rollpan the guy that did the work on that also confirmed the truck had been wrecked because he had found alot of overspray behind the rear bumper I believe. Did not really believe the BSM would have been an issue. Thank goodness that was the first piece I took off. Guy at a parts store where I went to look for aftermarket wide BSM looked and made the comment just as you that the BSM had been installed before paint cured. Anyway, I cannot install 1 3/8' BSM without re painting quarter panel and I am not gonna pay to do that. The guy that did say that he would paint chrome and said it would bond worked in the local Toyota body shop and went out on his own. Have heard good things about his work from asking around. Wonder if it would look OK to paint the whole piece of BSM. hesitations, 1. Is this too wide a band to have a solid color, 2. The chrome piece will make it not look like a solid piece of BSM, will it look funny?
