I agree, why on earth would you run longer on the "break in oil" than you would on regular motor oil (if that is what it ships with). It was recommended to me that the break in oil change should occur around 1000~1500 miles and there should be regular oil in the engine. Once that period has lapsed and the oil changed go synthetic.
