well, what about putting a pair of godzillas on the 8 and shoehorning it in a celica? wait...didn't someone...

bruce, i am planning on installing a high pinion 9" ford rear end, 35 spline end to end, full float, with svo discs & ebrake...and later, a '609' hybrid in the front to match. my application is a little different of course, but if you needed a seriously stout rear end and driveshaft, that's the way to go...lighter than a dana 60 and quite possible stronger, plus it costs less. also, you can convert the tundra rear to full float and it's quite strong, food for thought a v6 will twist the splines off a shaft while running in the granny gear on 39s with the rear spooled, if the shaft was improperly heat treated...that's the only one ive heard they busted yet. the ford rear end conversion tho, thats custom, but if you want you can even get a 40 spline spool, probably totally unnecessary for most mortals.

i really like this engine. dunno why i'd want another engine of similar size by a big-3 manufacturer. if toyota imported something beefier, id buy it.
