Default Rear door panel removal?

Hi all,

I have to replace both rear quarter window locking latches on my 2000 Limited Access Cab because they cracked, one actually fell apart (cheesy design Toyota). Has anyone ever removed the rear suicide door panels before? I'm wondering if they are like some of the door panels that I have removed many years ago on American cars where there are numerous tab-type clips that get beat up or destroyed after the first removal.

I've heard some of the newer Fords don't have these clips and you have to remove all the door hardware and lift the door panel up out of it's securing notches. You would definately do damage trying to remove a panel like that one using the methods required for the older standard clip type.

I have the Toyota factory manual, and it doesn't go into detail on the removal of the door panels. If anyone has had to perform this job before, I'd sure appreciate your advice.

Thanks, Brian
