just finished hardwiring my valentine one radar detector in my 05 double cab tacoma and thought id share some pics. i would have done a nice write up for all of you, but i remembered my camera once i had already done most of the install.

as you can prolly tell by the pics i ripped my interior up pretty thoroughly, but i wanted the install to be nice. i ran the power wire under the headboard to the passenger side 'A' pillar, there the cable goes down into the dash, behind the glove box and finally draws power from the accesory electrical socket in the center console. there was a ground screw right next to it which is the one i used. pretty clean install imho, took me about an hour, but im a little slow and at times careless, as you can tell by my "battle scars"

anyways, i had fun taking apart my taco and the detector works great, since the socket is only on with the truck you dont have to worry about turning the detector off or anything like that.

i hate the spiral cord hanging and have hardwired this same detector in 3 different cars (02 acura rsx, 02 explorer and the 05 taco)

if anyone else has a detector i highly reccomend hardwiring.

Hey did you see if the ECU was still behind the glove box?
