Power folding mirrors...need some answers
I got a call from my wife yesterday and her first words were, "Don't be angry." Long story short, she was backing out of the garage trying to avoid a car on her left and not paying attention to our sequoia's mirror on the right. The mirror hit the garage door frame, but did not fold backwards like it was supposed to. Instead, the glass broke and also broke the three mounts holding the mirror and motor to the housing. The sideview mirror looks normal from the front but whats left of the mirror is hanging out of the housing. A call to the dealer found that the only fix is for an entire new sideview mirror, to the tune of $238.
My question is this, does anybody know if a sequoia NOT equipped with power folding mirrors is pre-wired for the power folding mirrors? I know that toyota is pretty good about using universal wiring harnesses in their trucks, with each individual truck just utilizing what it needs. I'd like to just order two power folding mirrors, the new switch to control the mirrors, and install that in my truck. Does anybody know if this is possible or am I out of luck? Also, if anyone could locate an exploded diagram of how to take apart my mirrors and doors, that would be great.
