The same thing happend to me & friend of mine about 10 yrs ago in his mid to late 80's tacoma. We slowed down to turn into a gas station and boom. The RF tire came completly off rolling down a 25 mile hill. I'll never forget it, we sat in complete silence for a good minute watching that tire roll and bounce for what seemed forever. "If" we had been going 30mph or more we would have had an accident, but he was a good driver and was going very slow! I have two of the recalled vehicles in my driveway, and I remember that day very well b/c we both felt very fortunate. I sure hope toyota knows what the heck they are doing
