I checked my mileage book and 10 tanks before and after installing the Iridiums were all at 27-29 mpg. So that increased mileage aspect is out the window.

I know I posted in another thread but 15 tankfuls during the same months a year later with Mobil 1 resulted in 30-32 mpg!

Total side note:
Not that the Tundra or Sequoia's need it but if anybody has issues with their distributor on other cars. There is a seller on ebay named flying_pat (has an ebay store and regular website also) that sells nothing but distributors. His site is www.distributorking.com. I bought a complete distributor for $288 and had it FedEx overnighted for $30. $320 included coil, cap, rotor and all new electronics. This thing showed up ready to bolt in!! 2 bolts, 2 connectors (factory plugs) attach your plug wires and your done. Car started first crank.

I had the same issue twice on my Corolla. The O-ring on the distributor shaft wears and oil seeps into the housing and shorts the igniter as well as coats everything else, resulting in no spark. The first time it happened was at 108k when the car was 6 years old. Wife had it towed to shop (I was 5 states away on business) who diagnosed the problem. Dealer parts would have been $600+ (320 for igniter, 210 for housing, plus a couple other pieces) and would be a 5 day wait. They found a used one with 30k on it for $200 and installed it. Towing/diagnostic/parts grand total $410.

Fast forward 6 years and 82k later on Memorial day. Wife takes car food shopping (so I can wash her truck) and calls 2 minutes later. Stuck around the block and car won't start. I drive over start diagnosing. No hint of firing and check to find no spark. Pull cap and find very slight oil film inside cap and more on igniter. Tow it back home. Call parts houses Tuesday and find no stock anywhere all say dealer or boneyard. Boneyards have some, $200 but no mileage as they are all on shelves, could be 20k or 120k. Dealer can order parts, take about 5 days and cost about $600.

$320 overnight brand new from Distributor King with $0 core charge and lifetime warranty on parts. Tell every mechanic you know to keep this in their toolbox 1-866-699-KING(5464).
