I could see if a bed or a cab chipped and not the other or vice versa. Then we could pinpoint a problem to a plant. This is not the case. Seems since around March to April 05 production dates on the Tacos are having a lot better luck with their paint.
I think the real reason the more recently produced Tacos aren't having the paint chipping problem is that they haven't been driven in winter yet. I read alot of posts from people who claim they have no chipping, and it's either because their trucks are still brand new so they've never driven in winter, or they live in an area that doesn't see snow. I'm really concerned because our chipping happened in the first month we owned the truck, so our trucks were still brand new giving us access to lemon proceedings and, if we wanted it, Toyota's courtesy paint job. But what about the people whose trucks won't chip until next January, when they already have 12,000+ miles on their trucks? I doubt Toyota's going to offer a courtesy paint job on a truck with that many miles on it, and they might not have any other options because their truck has too many miles.
