i've had 3 break and i'm not gonna waste money on another factory replacement. i'm gonna try to fabricate the plastic joint out of metal. i have two broken ones on my truck and i kept the first one that broke after i took it off. its gonna be the guinea pig. newer ones may be somewhat better but i bet there still plastic and this joint is under alot of pressure when the latch is snapped closed. i think it will be worth a try.
