Today I called the Toyota Customer Experience Center & found out my truck is part of the recall. They told me I didn't have to wait for the recall letter. They told me I could just go to my dealer and tell them I'm affected by the recall and then my dealer can verify this by checking my VIN #.
I called my dealer & they want me to stop by tomorrow (I guess to check my VIN # in person) and so they can order the parts. Hopefully, they'll get the parts in quickly & get it done.
The service tech at my dealer didn't sound too happy about the whole thing but that's his problem. Right away he asked if I had already received a recall letter but I explained to him I didn't need it according to Toyota. Sometimes they act like they're paying for the repair out of their own pocket or something.
