I've noticed that my 2005 doesn't respond quickly under WOT... However, if I move the pedal 50-75% of the way, it screams... It's part of the electronic throttle (as opposed to the mechanical throttle cable, that it replaced) and the computer's attempt to improve mpg, and even out driving.
