KEN/JACK: Good job on this GB.....You've negotiated some fairly decent prices too (considering what these units cost on the "open" market). I believe that anyone who gets one installed will not regret it! I know I have thoroughly enjoyed mine since I installed it in 2001.


MR SMITTY: Unfortunately, only the Tundra offers a "power rear sliding window" as a factory option, hence, Toyota only makes an OEM switch designed specifically for the Tundra. Tundra's are "unique" in this respect because our "Combination Switches" (i.e. Foglight, Clutch Cancel, etc) have a
"different" physical appearance (e.g. sort of like a "canted oval" shape...).
(Follow KEN's link and you see exactly what I mean). From what I've been able to figure out, the Tacoma's don't use these type switches; their switches are more the "conventional" "straight horizontal or vertical" type. When you get your slider unit though, the CR Laurence unit will also come with a "prewired" switch for you (I've posted a pic in my photo section of what the switch should look like. It is not an exact photo of the switch that will come with your unit, but it is very close to what it looks like). Also, in the instruction manual you'll get, CR Laurence will provide you photos of
"recommended" mounting locations for the switch and a mounting template.
Again, my experience with this unit is based on my 2000 Tundra; not a Tacoma. However, I don't think there will be a hugh difference from the Tacoma (In addition to having a CR Laurence in my 2000 Tundra, I also had
a CR Laurence Power Slider installed in my 1994 Toyota Pick-Up...). IF Tacoma owners do in fact have a "blank space" that will accept a Tundra switch, there should be no reason why they can't do this modification to install an "OEM Power Rear Sliding Switch", however, I don't think the Tacoma
does.
