replacing factory deck - need 2nd opinion
got a JVC KD-DV5100 to replace my factory deck in my 05 tundra. i know a bit (read not much) about car stereo installs however I like to do these things myself when I can. had 89 yota pickup installed myself - altho it was very easy - minimal wiring replacement - much easier to wire than a new truck! i did install 2 amps, a sub, and rear spkrs so I got some exposure to the whole world of zen car setero install. i would prefer to have my new deck installed by a pro installer. the place i want to use is saying they are gonna charge me 80 BUCKS to "bypass my factory amp"
do you all think that is a bit excessive? not sure of the hourly labor rate but as far as i know it just involves rerunning some wires to the new deck - right?
well i am gonna go to another shop in the area to see what they say, however i am interested in your input.
also any suggestions with what I should get to replace the factory amplifier with? i am looking to upgrade sound quality and will replace speakers soon as well.
thanks all!
