Default Tundra Tires

Hello Everyone,
I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra Limited 4X4, V-8, with 15,000 miles on it. It came equiped with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires. These tires seem that they soon will need to be replaced due to the tread dept remaining. My question is; can anyone tell me what kind of mileage they got on their original tires and what brand they were. Also, I am thinking of replaceing these tires with Mitchelin LTX tires. Has anyone had any experience with these on thier Tundras. I am in the market for a smooth riding, quiet, good traction tire,(in snow). I do not need a "All Terrain" for off roading. I had the Michelin LTX tires on my 1989 Ford F-150 and they seem like great tires.
Also, I got the ball joint recall notice. I was wondering if these defective ball joints could have any effect on the wear of my BF Goodrich Tires? I had these tires rotated every 5K miles and the air pressure was always correct.
I got better than double the mileage on my 1989 F-150 and they where Firestone ATX's.
How is everyone makeing out with the ball joint recall?
I know this is a lot of questions being asked, but if anyone can help me out with some good advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Rice Burner
