Re: Safety Recall!
Hi Enlightened and NH Parrot,
I had the lower ball joints replaced by the dealer today,(1/2/06), I forgot to ask about the front end alignment but I will call them tomorrow to find out if it was done. It was stated that it would be done in the recall letter.
While I was there I had them check for exhaust manifold leaks and fot a very slight brake pulsation in the pedal and steering wheel sometimes.
They found no leaks on the manifolds, but said that if one occurs, it would be covered under the 8Yrs./80K emissions warranty. So I will keep that in mind.
As far as the brake pulsation, they said it was very slight and the front pads are like new. I was told by the service mgr. that I was over the time limit on the warranty. My truck is a 2002 Limited with 14,800 miles on it that was purchased 2/1/02.
Enlightened, I did see the problem that the 2005 Tundra owner had with the broken cv joint. When you find the PHONE NUMBER you mentioned that you are going to give him. Could you pass it on to me? I feel really bad for this individual and I would be screaming to Toyota if I were him. This is not right and like they say, "The Squeeky Wheel Gets The Grease".
Thanks Again,
Rice Burner
