I've got the exact same problem. I've tied a string around it and clamped it into the sunglasses holder. This is hardly a solution - but if you're saying that Toyota is not recognizing this as a problem, then we have to write to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. They catalog clear safety problems like this - and then, when there seems to be a certain volume, can mandate a recall. Why the manufacturers ignore a clear safety problem is beyond me -- especially for Toyota, when most of us are usually proud owners.
