Re: Should I have gotten some touch up paint with my new truck?
i had to buy a small bottle of touch up paint from the dealer for our 03 corolla. they were going to have to order it, but the parts guy found some on a shelf he'd ordered for some other guy who never picked it up. before i figured that out though, i had driven around to all the auto parts stores in town (not a very long trip) because the car was already at the detail shop. while i was at autozone, i found out they do carry the phantom grey metallic for the tundra. it's around 5 dollars. another store, o-reilly's, wanted 70 bux to mix up a quart for the 'rolla. i'm sure it would have been better paint and i would have had enough to paint half the car if i'd gone that route! anyway, check the local parts stores. the stuff i got from the dealer that is "supposed" to be an exact match, is a slightly different tint of blue. it's not very noticeable unless you're looking for it and it doesn't bother me anymore like it did when the scratches where open down to the primer.
