Default Re: tacoma VS fj cruiser

Wow guess I touch a never here. I'm not saying it is not a good vehicle. Just not for me. I love the engine in my 4runner which is the same in the FJ and both vehicles are less than the h3. My reviews are from edmonds and motortrend and motorweek tv. I feel the h3 are over priced. I like my camaro, but will be the first to tell you the toyota is what I drive everyday. Just a reliablity think for me. I have owned 2 gm's and 2 toyota's. 1 gm motor last 104,000's and blew head gasket, which gm wouldn't replace via recall because the vehicle was over 100,000miles. The 350 lt1 in the camaro is a great motor, but has tons of known problems, just look on the highway safety web site. I have 124,000 hard miles on it, but has had much work. I have had 24,000 trouble free miles on the toyota and over 180,000 on another toyota. My wife's 1999 kia has had less problems than my GM's. I just feel they are over priced, and not the only one the feels this way. Just look at the rebates. And all smaller engines 4cycl, inlines have more horsepower per liter than bigger engines with one exception the new corvette engine. I like the concept of the 5 cyclinder inline, but not for 6000$ more.

I stand by what I originally stated, for the price I would take the FJ and take the 6000$ put it into what I wanted. And your right the h3 has a few things you can't get on the Fj like leather seats. Hey you can have that, I will take the rubber floor mats, if I wanted leather in a off road vehicle I would by a 4runner for less money. The h3 cost more than my 4runner, and my 4runner has more options and is a better vehicle.
