Default Re: Hilux Tundra Tacoma

No, the Hilux is not sold in the US and very few parts are in common with any US model -- certainly not the Tundra. Hilux is a lighter duty pickup closer in concept and size to Tacomas - but still differing greatly. Hilux is sold in many countries such as Australia where Hilux accessories are decently priced (not cheap, I say, but decent compared to higher-taxed countries). I have used Hilux models for work in Costa Rica, Chile, and Argentina and I don't remember Tacoma foo-foo stuff on those (like keyless entry, ABS, daylight running lights, or even airbags). Remember that many Toyota models have unique "local national content" including but not limited to US-manufactured pickups, but also some Hilux production/assembly was done in Argentina, and possibly in other countries.
