I was having a nice Saturday drive and passed an oncoming car. This little rock just bounced up the hood and "ticked" the windsheild. I thought at least it was not really able to be seen - just left of center and at the very bottom. At that moment, a crack shot straight up 3 inches and over to the left 3 inches.

A new Toyoata windshield special ordered is 520CDN not including installation and aftermarkets have not caught up on the fj model yet. I went to a 3rd party windsheild repair outfit to see if the crack can be stopped and they provided a suggestion to place a 1" black graphics tape around the perimeter of the windsheild to prevent these types of rock cracks.

I guess it the worst possible place for a rock to hit. Too late for me. I have to be the first one out there - DAMN! I didn't need this distinction.
