Default Re: Yaris 2006 Seat belt warning

I know that on the US version (2007 model) it states in the owner's manual that the dealer can disable it. This involves the service department's scan tool to change the software state of the buzzer and warning light. It can be done for both driver's and passenger's seats, for the buzzer and/or the warning light.

I have the factory manuals (including wiring diagram) and it appears that it is possible to disconnect two wires under the driver's seat, which may "fool" the computer into thinking that the driver's seat belt is fastened. The complication is that you don't want to disconnect the wiring that senses the presence of the driver (for the airbag).

If I find a good system that the individual owner can employ, I'll post it.
