4RunnerGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota 4Runner.
This is a discussion thread titled "03 sport V8 suspension bumper, xtera", within the 4Runner forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Situation; I am passed the window for the bulletin. I have lived with the suspension squeak since 04. When I originally complained about the squeak over bumps and ask dealer about the bulletin, the dealer told me baloney about stabilizer bar crap. I ask if they did the bulleting and they said yes.. although I think they just told me that as a blow off and gave me crappy service because I did my 30K service and one of the boots was leaking grease around the boot which just needed to be tightened and they didn’t even fix or mentioned it . They even told me the drive shaft thud was normal and that it was related to the caliper engagement; which i fixed somewhat by following the grease advice.
I need a picture of the new suspension bumper for the 4runner that came with the bulletin ( SU005-03 AUG 03 Suspension - Squeak Noise From Front on Sharp Bumps )or a picture of the suspension bumper on a newer 4runner.
I know the material is supposed to be slick to the touch but I went to the dealership to purchase a set and the physical look and touch felt the same as the one on the truck so I am wondering if they only have the old part. Dealership said part number was the same so there was no change and whenever Toyota make a revision they generally change part number...humnn,
Would like to get her done while I am doing my brakes..

It sounds like your are referring to a "Technical Service Bulletin" ie TSB. If so what is the TSB date and number? I have an 03' V-8 Sport also. My Toyota Service Manager and Techs are very cooperative. If they have done the TSB replacement they might have the info you are looking for.
