I have a 2003 4Runner. The A/C light is flashing. I had a friend check the pressure on my system and I have plenty of pressure. He then jumpered out the high pressure switch and the A/C came on and the light stopped flashing. Is this a problem just with the switch or could it be something else?

TSB EL011-05 : A/C LIGHT FLASHING - MAGNETIC CLUTCH RELAY 6/3/2005 - 2001 – 2004 Toyota Camry, ECHO, & Celica. 2002 – 2004 4Runner, Corolla, & MR2 Spyder. 2003 – 2004 Highlander, Matrix, Sienna, & Solara. This bulletin is to provide information regarding countermeasures to the A/C magnetic clutch relay for A/C light flashing (inoperative A/C) issues on some vehicles equipped with a magnetic clutch compressor.
Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, Whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific complaint

I had the same problem with my 03 4 runner and it ended up being a $35 relay.

Wish I would have read this first! I encountered the same issue but with a 7 month pregnant wife and 2 year old in the Texas July heat, I didn't have the luxury of time to jack around with it... $188 later I have a new $35 relay.. : (

$14.19 plus shipping. AC clutch relay from the pull down menu. Their shipping was fast as well!
